Join our free 2.0 CME credit virtual event on Tuesday, September 24th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm!
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can cause damage to any part of the body, with painful and swollen joints, extreme fatigue, and skin rashes as some of the most common symptoms. It can range from mild to life-threatening. It is difficult to diagnose, and there is no cure.
Healthcare Workers, and particularly Community Health Workers (CHW), are the boots on the ground in many communities throughout Ohio. Many may not recognize the signs and symptoms of lupus or know about its devastating impact. Increasing CHW's awareness and knowledge of lupus, as well as the available resources the LFA, GOC has to offer, will help them recognize and encourage undiagnosed and/or untreated lupus patients to see the proper specialists. Timely diagnosis and compliant treatment will help reduce damage and suffering from this disease.
