Through the current funds raised, the Lupus Foundation of America, Greater Ohio Chapter has been able to assist those affected by lupus by providing access to resources, educational programming, and compassionate support. We can't do it alone though! Your contributions make help make a difference. They allow us to continue the work that we do and assist lupus warriors all across the state of Ohio.

Everyone's lupus is different – making it difficult to diagnose.
In lupus, the immune system is unbalanced and cannot tell the difference between healthy cells, tissues, and foreign invaders in the body. This means the body attacks itself and unfortunately, there is no known cure. Lupus is different for each person and as a result, the average time to receive a diagnosis and treatment is between 6-15 years! Your gift supports our chapter's vision, mission, and state impact.

We may be a small organization, but we have mighty goals! The Ohio Chapter envisions a life free from lupus, and it must start with educating others about it.

The history of Ohio's Lupus Trailblazers!
The Lupus Foundation of America, Greater Ohio Chapter has been serving the lupus community in our state since 1977. The organization started as a grassroots effort of friends and family of lupus patients. Henrietta Aladjem was the first to lead the Ohio Chapter to help those affected by lupus. The Sagaris family of Cleveland was one of the founding members and they are still involved today. As the years progressed and the organization changed on a national level, more and more of the state was ushered into the chapter’s service area.
In 2022, the chapter celebrated their 45th Anniversary, and as of today, the chapter serves the entire State of Ohio.
